When Hatchful is the better pick. Honestly.
No tool wins every case. Choose Hatchful if:
- You run a Shopify store and need something free today. It is genuinely free, with no tier to upgrade to, and the sizes it exports fit Shopify and social profiles.
- You are testing an idea and do not yet need vector files, brand guidelines or a hand-off. Paying for those before you have customers is premature.
- You want zero decisions. Pick an industry, pick a style, download PNGs, move on.
What free really covers, and where it stops
Shopify Logo Maker, which is what Hatchful became, is free with no paid tier, no credits and no upsell. You choose an industry and a visual style, adjust the name, font, colors, symbol and layout, and download a ZIP of PNG files that includes a transparent version and sizes cut for a site header and social profiles. For a store that needs to look presentable this afternoon, that is a complete answer.
The limits show up later, in two places. The first is file format: the download is PNG only, so the first printer, sign shop or embroiderer who asks for vector will stop you. The second is scope: you cannot import your own images into the tool, and there are no brand guidelines, mockups, lockup sheets or developer files, so everything after the logo is on you.

Is Hatchful still available?
Under that name, no. hatchful.shopify.com redirects to Shopify Logo Maker, and Shopify no longer uses the Hatchful name on its pages. The free logo tool itself still works.
Can I get a vector file from it?
No. Shopify lists PNG files only, including a transparent background version. If a printer, sign shop or embroiderer asks for vector, you will need to have the mark redrawn or use a tool that exports SVG. Logofai converts a logo to SVG for 3 credits on a paid plan.
Is a free logo good enough to launch with?
